Well I haven’t posted recently as my dog and blog assistant Jenna has been sick and spent quite a bit of time at the vets, so I haven’t been doing much in the way of crafting lately. I did go to a local wildflower garden and took some nice photos that i’ll put up when i get the chance later.
Now about the fair, I’m really excited about the Love Vintage Fair! it’s on twice a year and I missed the one in April but I will be going this weekend as it will be on from October 14-16 2011 at Canterbury Race Course. For more information check out their website here. It’s full of parades, informative talks on vintage fashion and there are lots and lots of stalls full of wonderful vintage treasures.
I will post about my visit to the fair and hopefully have some pictures too.
I’m always on the look out for easy ways to give my hair some curl without using to many bits of equipment (i’m not very coordinated when it comes to hair styling) or hot styling tools, as I have quite fine hair that doesn’t like to much heat applied to it.
I have tried pin curls and that worked really well, all you need is wet/damp hair, bobby pins, a rat tail comb and a good chunk of time to get all done plus it has to dry while the hair is all pinned up which can take a while (it’s recommended you leave your hair in overnight). in the morning you take it down and brush your hair till you get the curls the way you want them.
I followed the video’s by Strawberry Koi to do my first ever pin curls and was pretty successful,
Make sure you give yourself plenty of time as it took me nearly an hour to get all my hair pinned up (as i said i’m not terribly coordinated when it comes to styling my own hair)
But today I found a video posted by a lady on facebook and it looked like a really interesting and most importantly easy way to get vintage style curls without using hot styling tools!
It looks really Easy and i’ll be giving it a go once i can find an elastic band like the one she uses in the video.
Hi Blog world!
This is my first post here on my brand new blog. This is also the first time i’ve ever had a blog so it will be a bit of an adventure as i figure out how everything works 🙂
I suppose I’ll start by letting you all know a bit about me and why I started this blog.
Well my name is Stacey and I’m 29 years old I live in Sydney Australia and I happen to have a bit of a love of all things vintage and home made, really like cooking and am enjoying learning how to use my SLR camera too while out and about on my walks! So I started this blog to share my adventures while I explore the things I love doing and as a way to motivate me when I start new projects (which can be a bit scary) and to help me get all the way through them (I tend to run out of puff half way through a project and need some motivating to get them done).
I’m hoping to post 1-2 times a week with the help of my blog assistant Jenna (My Darling dog) who also supervises my various projects too.
Hopefully you’ll all join me on my adventures and please feel free to comment or recommend things as i’d love that kind of feedback 🙂
Until later then
