Lemonade Scones For Tea

I made scones on the weekend as i’ve been wanting them for ages and finally had an excuse to make them as my friend was visiting me and brought her little baby boy who I hadn’t met yet to visit too. I had a good time catching up with my friend and admiring her little man who is a real cutie, and everyone enjoyed the scones.

Here’s the recipe:

3 Cups of Self Raising Flour

1 Cup of Cream

1 Cup of Lemonade

(for chocolate scones just add 1/4 cup Cocoa powder and 300g of chocolate pieces to the mix)

Method:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius

Sift flour into a bowl and add the cream and lemonade and stir until combined into a soft and somewhat sticky dough, Turn dough out onto a floured bench and knead together for about 10 seconds just to make it come together. Shape into a flat round about 1 inch thick and cut into rounds with a drinking glass.

Bake on a lined baking sheet for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden.

For the chocolate version just add the cocoa and the choc bits to the sifted flour before you add the liquid ingredients.

Hope you enjoy them 🙂
